Save Money When Moving: Pay It Forward
Retail Bootcamp is a series that will teach you step-by-step basics to saving money on Retail for yourself, home, gifts, holidays, etc...
The last of of our Save Money When Moving series is all about Paying It Forward.
- Tax Deductions. Make sure to save all your receipts for tax deductions (moving expenses, packing materials, etc...). Those receipts can stack up and can save you money by April 15th. Check with your Tax Specialist to see what is allowed for deductions.
- Referrals. One of the highest compliments you can make is to give a referral for someone who has done an excellent job for you (ie Realtors, Movers, Contractors, etc…). Who knows, they may give you a discount in the future for referrals you've sent them.
- Pay It Forward. Once you're done with all those moving boxes, post them for FREE on Craigslist or pass them along to a friend. And, if you need to get rid of excess items that won't fit/work in your new home, donate them to a local charity.
- Thank You's. Don't forget all those friends and family members who helped you during the big move. Send a Thank You note, a Gift Card, Groupon, etc... Let them know how much they're appreciated.
I hope you've enjoyed our Moving Money Saving Tips.
