DIY Valentine's Day Projects: Felt Heart Wreath for Under $10

DIY Valentine's Day Felt Heart Wreath for Under $10
Today's DIY Valentine's Day project is a Felt Heart Wreath. I love the rich look of this wreath! And it was SO easy to make. Your Retail Helper

My total cost was $9.50. I used left over scrap material from my Craft Closet to wrap the wreath and for the ribbon to hang it. For the rest of the items, I used coupons and sale prices.  You'll need:

  • Foam Wreath
  • Straight Pins
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Scrap Fabric
  • 2" Circle Template - Cardstock

Make a 2" cardstock circle as a template. Cut out your felt circles. The quantity will depend on the size of your wreath. I used a little over 200 circles. Folding the felt material in half when cutting saved me some time, too.

I chose to wrap my wreath in scrap fabric so that the white of the form wouldn't show through. This step is optional. Use the straight pins to attach the fabric.

Next, I added my ribbon, attaching it with straight pins. If you don't attach the ribbon at this point, you'll have a difficult time attaching it when the wreath is finished. The felt circles will be pinned directly over the ribbon.

Take a felt circle and fold it in half. Then fold it in half again. Take a straight pin and stick it into the bottom of the wedge and push it into your form. Continue all around the wreath. BTW, I didn't cover the back.

You'll quickly find a rhythm for this step. Try alternating directions. Experiment with how close want your pieces, too. The closer together, the tighter the look and the more felt circles you'll need.
