Yesterday, I scored big at Kohl's. I got this Discovery Kids Construction Fort for only $1.73 (price includes tax). Woohoo!

The Construction Fort was originally $39.99. It was on Clearance for $11.99. I had a 20% off coupon. Plus, a $10 Kohl's Gift Card via email. After all the discounts, it was only $1.73. The kids have been having a blast with it.

Crazy 8 Mall Haul

Here's my most recent Mall Haul at Crazy 8. We love this store. They were having a big clearance sale. Plus, I used a 20% off my entire purchase coupon that was in the most recent Family Fun magazine. (BTW, that's the only place I've been able to find coupons for this store.)

In the end I was able to get 15 items for $63 before taxes. That's about $4.20 for each item. Woohoo!

Retail Spotlight: Ross Dress for Less + $25 Gift Card Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to pre-shop at a new Ross Dress for Less store that was opening in our metro area. I wasn't familiar with the store chain, but I have to say, I was pleasantly impressed.

Ross Dress for Less has been around for about 30 years and are now expanding in the Midwest. Their motto of "Experience the Treasure Hunt" is very true. It was a rush to find discounts at 50%-70% off major name brands.

They have everything from designer clothes, furniture, household, kids, toys, kitchen, decor, jewelry and on and on. Their stock is always changing. We were warned, if you see something you want, you better put it in your cart, because it won't be there long. Trucks arrive 3-4 times a week at each store, so it's a new experience each time you shop.

What sets Ross Dress for Less apart from other discount merchants? Their connection to Designer Labels (shhh, I can't drop any names, but rest assured, they're top lines). You might have to dig around to find what you're looking for, but it will definitely be worth it.

To prove my point, here's my Mall Haul. I spent $63.92 when full retail price should have been $130. That's a savings of 51%. I even got some items for my Gift Reserve.

Mall Haul: Target Back-to-School Clearance In-store

Have you checked out the Target Clearance in-store lately? I found some great deals in their Back-to-School section yesterday. 

By mid year all our lunch bags are shot, so I was excited when I saw some on Clearance. I got three lunch bags. Two of them were marked down to $2.38. The other one was on clearance for $2.98. They probably retailed for $6-$9. The best part is that they had manufacturer coupons inside! Woohoo!

I also got two plastic flower pots for 88¢. It definitely pays to scoot down those Clearance aisles.

Retail Spotlight: Hobby Lobby

We're still in the process of decorating our home that we bought last Summer. I know, a little slow. But that's how it goes when you're trying to stick to a budget. It's also taken me awhile to figure out what kind of look I want in each area.

One of my favorite places to get a good deal on Home Decor is Hobby Lobby. Not only can you get all your crafting, sewing and DIY supplies, you can spice up your decor inexpensively.

Hobby Lobby has terrific sales (40%-50% off). They also have a weekly printable coupon that offers great discounts on regular priced items. (You don't even have to print the coupon. You can just show it to the cashier on your Smart Phone.)

They have a fun selection of Home Decor. Styles from Modern to Country and everything in between. Make sure to check out their Clearance aisles, too.

Here's my latest Haul. I had some Birthday money and coupons in hand. Everything but the Red Flower Medallion was 50% off. I used a 40% off coupon on the Medallion, which was the most expensive item at $36 after coupon. (It's my favorite!) My total cost was $88, including tax.

Consignment Sale Haul - Fall 2012

We love Consignment Sales. They're a perfect way to save money on clothes, gear, shoes, etc... My favorite sale, Just Between Friends, just wrapped up. Here's my Haul:

• 2 Ski Bibs
• 1 Backpack
• 1 Magnet Activity Game
• 2 PJ's
• 1 Winter Coat
• 1 Pair of Dress Pants
• 1 Pair of Shoes
• 4 Shirts
• 2 Sweaters

Total cost for 15 items, including Tax, was just under $95.

I already had most of what I needed for Fall for all three of our kids. These items were some of the last things we needed. The Magnet Activity Game ($15) will be a Christmas Gift for one of the boys this year.

How Much Did We Spend on School Supplies?

Since we're done with our Back to School Saving Tips series, we thought we'd give you an update on how we did with supplies for the 2012-2013 school year.

This above photo shows all the school supplies we had in our Stockpile or supplies we re-purposed from the previous year.

This next photo is the supplies we bought using sales, coupons, rebates, discounts, etc....

As you can see, we already had most of what we needed ahead of time. It's hard to calculate what we spent on the items in our Stockpile, since it was a year ago. However, I can guarantee we paid Rock Bottom Prices.

The new supplies cost less than $20. Not bad!

We'll also be watching for Clearance Sales on Back to School supplies, now that school as begun, so we can stock up for next year.

Mall Haul: Consignment Sale Shopping Trip

I shopped one of my favorite Consignment Sales on Friday and wanted to show you my Mall Haul.

I spent $129 (before taxes). That comes out to about $3.70 per item. Each of the items were almost exclusively name brands (Old Navy, Children's Place, Gymboree, etc...). 

I also consigned clothes and gear at this sale. I earned $149+ from all the items I sold. Subtract that from what I spent and it comes out to $20 in profit. Can you say FREE clothes?! This is one of many reasons why Consignment Sales are absolutely worth it!

• 16 shorts
• 4 swimsuits
• 1 life vest
• 9 shirts
• 1 shrug
• 1 pair of pants (brand new with tags from Children's Place)
• 2 pair of capri's

Children's Place Mall Haul - $100 Worth of Clothes for $33

I wanted to share my Mall Haul from yesterday at Children's Place. They're having a huge Clearance Sale. Plus, yesterday only, I was able to use a 30% off my entire purchase coupon that I had received via email from TCP. (I posted the sale/coupon/deal yesterday.)

• 2 Boys Toddler Jeans
• 1 Toddler Sweatshirt
• Pair of Girls' Leggings
• 2 Girls' Summer Tops
• 1 Girl's Sweater

Full retail before sale prices was $100+. After all was said and done, I only paid $33 (before tax). Woohoo!

Mall Haul: Bath & Body Works Spent $22 Saved $49

I meant to show the Mall Haul I got at Bath & Body Works this past weekend.

They had a Buy 3 Get 3 Free Sale. Plus, they were giving away a Free Gift with purchase on Saturday only. I also used a $10 off $30 coupon.

I spent a total of $22 (Reg $71). Woohoo! They're all going in my Gift Reserve.

Children's Place, Gymbore & Sears Mall Haul - I Saved Over $117

I went shopping Tuesday to get some Spring items and take advantage of sales, clearance, coupons and in-store credit. I shopped at Sears, Children's Place and Gymboree.

• 1 Easter Dress
• 1 Capri Leggings
• 9 Shirts
• Bolero Sweater (forgot to add it to the photo)
• 1 Pair of Shoes (also forgot to add to the photo)

Full retail price on all 13 items should have been $192.04. After sales, clearance and coupons I spent $94.21. And I got a $20 in-store credit from Children's Place to use on a future purchase. Meaning my total out of pocket was $74.21 (before taxes). A savings of $117.83 or 61% off. Not bad!

The Easter Dress was the most expensive item. I wouldn't normally spend that much on a dress (I usually buy dresses for church at Consignment Sales), but for Easter each year, a friend and I buy matching dresses for our girls. So cute!
